Go Longhorns!

Last night Allie and I watched my cousin, Caitlin, play softball. We got to see her play Tuesday night, too, and I am so impressed! Right before the season started she decided she wanted to try playing, and she is so good! Last night she had a couple of RBIs and hit 2 triples! That girl can hit! It was fun sitting and talking with my aunt and uncle, too. I'm so grateful my family is so close and fun to be around! Allie had fun running around saying, "Wotch mommy, wotch!" She is obsessed with this phrase, but it is so fun to watch whatever it is she is so proud of doing! Good game Caitlin! We're so proud of you and can't wait for next season!

Wait for it...
wait for it...

Smacked another
triple!!

So You Think You Can Dance and Pink Cadillacs

Last night was our first So You Think You Can Dance party! I've actually never watched the show before, but my nursing girls are die hard fans. Nick is always at mutual on Wednesday nights making it the perfect girls night! Allie and I went straight from Pack Night, so I was sporting my oh so cute scouting shirt. Allie was so good too! She is turning into quite the little ham. If someone laughs at something she does, she does it over and over each time getting sillier. Jaime was the host this time, so she had a little fiesta meal of tacos and chips with salsa. Luckily I have amazing friends that always make sure everything is gluten free for me! She also made us all Pink Cadillacs (virgin of course). So delicious! I had one the other day at her house and had been craving one ever since. Sharla couldn't come, so Allie got her own. She loved it! I actually really liked the show too! It makes me wish that I was toned and could move like those people! So much talent! Thanks Jaime!!

Allie pranced around
in Shaela's way cute
"Barbie" shoes. Shaela
can pull off wearing
anything!

Allie is now a
Pink Cadillac
fan too! She
kept calling
her umbrella
a flower and
smelling it.

Camelback Inn

My mom, aunt, and I went to the Camelback Inn Spa yesterday. My mom and I went there 2 years ago for my birthday and we've been dying to go back. I was especially excited because this time I wasn't 36 weeks pregnant and looking like a beached whale. My cute little aunt is always, always doing things for others and we decided she needed a day to just be her. She is always so willing to watch Allie no matter what she has going that day. During school there were weeks when she'd watch her 3 times a week and was always willing to do more. I could not be doing school if is wasn't for her and other family members who watch Allie. With the help of her husband we were able to suprise her and take her for the day. We all got Swedish massages, tried out the steam and sauna rooms, and then lounged by the pool (see picture above) while sipping on lemonade. Heaven! I highly recommend this place! There's relaxing music playing where ever you go, they provide robes and slippers to walk around in (we of course wore our bathing suits underneath), and everyone waits on you hand and foot. I'm telling you...Heaven! I unfortunately always forget how easily I burn...especially when I haven't seen the sun in forever...and my legs FRIED! I'm lovin' the aloe vera today. Thanks for such a relaxing day Mom!

911 Call...again...

I've been meaning to blog about this since it happened. Please be careful driving out there! I had to go to the hospital for a couple of hours last Thursday, so I was driving West on the US 60 around 6:45am. I got in the right hand lane because I was almost to the Higley exit. I was driving about 75mph and this car whizzed by me on the left. I figured he was in a hurry if he was going that much faster than me and I was doing 10 over the speed limit. As soon as he got past me he swerved and turned into my lane! Apparently he needed to get off on Higley too? Not changed lanes, not slightly turned his wheel, but cranked the wheel so he was right in front of me and perpendicular to me! What the heck! As I stepped on the brake I thought, "Oh shoot, this guy's car is out of control!" His tires were smoking from burning rubber and his back end fishtailed. His front tires hit the small bump that separates the freeway from the rocks that are off to the right. (You know what I'm talking about? Like off to the right there are rocks and trees.) Anyways, so his tires hit the bump and sent him sailing in the air!! His car did a 360 degree flip in the air and hit a tree before it landed on its wheels again!! Holy cow!! From the time he turned into my lane to the time he landed on his wheels again was like 5 seconds! It all happened so fast! So I pulled off and called 911. Two cars pulled off with me and one guy was calling 911 too and the other ran toward the wrecked car. I jumped out and started running towards the car too all the time thinking..."Ok, there's gloves in my trunk, I'm about to see a dead guy, what did I learn about trauma victims???" So I'm still talking to 911 and trying to tell them where we are. I decided to let the other guy go help the dead guy while I stay on the phone and give directions. I look over and the guy in the car has his head on the steering wheel and isn't moving. Then, all of a sudden, he slowly lifts his head, shakes it back and forth, and gets out of the car!! He started walking towards us! How was he not dead?? And how is he walking?? I said, "Holy cow! Are you ok? How are you alive and walking??" He said, "I don't know, because I didn't have a seat belt on! I just held on to that blankety-blank steering wheel as hard as I could!" What?? No seat belt, 360 flip in the air, and you're walking?!! Anyways, even longer story short, the police got there and I told them what I saw and then left to go to the hospital. He turned in front of me at 6:45 and I was back on the road driving at 6:55. I was totally in shock of what the heck just happened and was shaking. So my point? Please be careful out there! I had to call 911 two weeks ago because there was an accident right in front of me and neither one of the cars had a cell phone. I had to call and then stay to tell the police what I saw. Am I bad luck or something?

Three Year Anniversary

Mine and Nick's three year anniversary was yesterday. We left Allie with Nick's parents and went to Red Lobster (one of my favorites) and then went to ice cream. I can't believe it has been that long already. A lot has happened in these three short years: a miscarriage, Allie, vacations, getting into Nursing School, buying a new house, buying a new car, raises, and so many more things! Nick and I have really grown and learned a lot about each other. Nick has had to practice a lot of patience. Thanks honey! I am so grateful to be married to such a great man! I can honestly say Nick has never sworn in front of me, never yelled at me, never said hurtful things to me, and always listened when I needed someone to talk to. He is such an awesome dad and Allie loves him to pieces. I so grateful that he is a worthy priesthood holder and can bring those blessings into our home. I still look at Nick and think, "How in the heck did I get him?!" I love you Nick! Thank you for three great years and I look forward to eternity with you!

The end of "Flashbacks"

Well, I think that's about it! One of these days I will realize that if I do little by little it won't take hours and hours to get caught up! Anyways, that is our family up until now. FYI: I put all the things that have happend since my post last month (and things even before that!) under the title of "Flashbacks", so you can see the updates below. Hopefully it isn't too terribly boring. I did it Sara! I'm not a slacker anymore!

Flashback #12 Disneyland

Last week we went to Disneyland with my mom and brother, Chris. We had an awesome time. It is definitely a whole new experience to go with an 18 month old, but actually she did a really good job. She truly is such a good little girl. She loves Lella (Cinderalla) and Mickey, so she was really excited whenever we were around them. She wasn't very excited about waiting in lines, but this time of year the lines weren't bad at all. Chris did a really good job keeping his temper in control, which for those of you that know my cute little brother know that this was a huge feat. Allie's favorite ride of all things was the carousel. Apparently we need to go to the mall more. Thanks for such a fun trip Mom!

The first night at the hotel
we looked over and found
Allie on the bed

Her new sunglasses

She wouldn't stop staring
at him

Dancing with the other kids

She was dancing at Downtown
Disney and fell. She got quite
the fat lip.

So cute!

Grammy Jean bought Allie
this baby Cinderalla and
Allie has not put her down
since.

Chris did such a good job!
He is really good with Allie.

Allie calls her "White"

I think she was in awe.
She kept staring at her
dress.

Everything she needs: her "papi"
(pacifier) and two "Lellas".

She would wave everytime
she went around.

Allie after Mommy made the
mistake of asking her to "pop out
her paci for a picture". My
mistake...

"I peem" (ice cream) at

ice cream and says, "Mmmm,
i peem!" If you look closely you
can see I got quite sunburned.

The last night there we went to

the Imporium store on Main Street

and told Allie to pick out a purse...

she picked out several.

Flashback #11 Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a great day. My usual Sunday meetings were cancelled so I got to actually be with my family on Sunday. Nick got me roses (which I love when he gets me flowers!) and some things for our Emergency Prepardness kit because he knows I am really into that right now. I made my mom a "Thank You" book. My friend gave me the idea and I really liked how it turned out. Each page said "Thank you..." and I would fill in the rest. Here are a few of the pages.

Thank you...
for teaching me to drive

Thank you...
for talking me out of dying my
hair purple (even just the
tips)

Thank you...
for letting me sit on the end
of your bed and tell you every
detail

Thank you...
for loving those that don't
seem "normal" to the
rest of the world

Thank you...
for cramming all my friends in the
car on the way to Junior High

Thank you...
most of all for being
my mom

Flashback #10 Drag Races

My mom and her boyfriend, Rick, invited us to the drag races again. It's down at Firebird National Raceway and actually pretty fun. Anyone who wants can go on a Friday night and race their vehicle. It's hilarious because it ranges from super nice racing vehicles to cars that people drive to work. Allie had to cover her ears a couple of times. She loves being with Rick and he is really good with her. Rick knows a lot about racing, so luckily he was there to explain it all.

Like I said, Allie loves being
with Rick.

As you can see this is a very
popular night :) Actually it is
because most people stand
down by the fence or right
next to the cars about to race.

She's so darn cute!

Flashback #9 Diamond Backs Game

Nick got tickets to a Diamond Backs game, so we went as a family. It was Allie's first game and she did really well. She hardly played attention to us because she was too busy flirting with everyone around us. I'm not a huge baseball fan (I'd rather play than watch), but Nick is and it was fun seeing Allie cheer for the team.

Before the big game!

I think this was her favorite
part.

GO D-BACKS!!

She was out before we turned
out of the parking garage.
