JDRF Walk 2009

Nick and I walked in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walk again this year with my cousin Samantha.  This is our third year to walk, but this year we were smart and left the girls at home.  We walked so much faster…suprise, suprise!  Great-grandma offered to watch the little kids this year and we were very grateful!

We all wore our team shirts that Samantha designed the first year we walked.  The front says Samantha’s Mission Possible and the back says Target the Cure Juvenile Diabetes

Samantha’s friend Aubrey, Samantha, and Samantha’s sister Sabrina.

We were so jazzed…we made it to the end!!  And Nick was… afraid?  or just embarrassed of his dorky wife?

133

And mom was not only jazzed about making it to the end…but the free water :) !

Thanks Samantha for letting us be a part of this with you!

Here’s some random pictures of what we did in October…

Allie rode trikes and played with her best friend Elizabeth that lives just down the street.

Brooklynn discovered she can get her toes up to her mouth.  Who needs a paci when you have your toes?

067 068

More and more people told us that Brooklynn looks “just like her Daddy”.  Which is just fine with me :)

Allie and Brookie watched PBS kids together

Brookie and Allie got cuter and cuter.

We fed the ducks with some friends.

And Brooklynn learned how to suck her thumb.  I’m not super worried though because she will still take a paci, and if she’s like Allie she will only do it for a couple of months and then quit.  But for now, she’s pretty darn cute when she does it :)

This is how she sleeps.  She rolls to her right side though ususally, and then drapes her left arm across her face and sucks her right thumb.

She’s so advanced…

This was taken back in October so she was only 3 months old, but as you can see she is already pulling herself up and standing.  Ok, ok, she’s not really.  But it makes me laugh that she locks her little knees and will stand there for a while if you stand her up.  Check out those chubby thighs!  I could just eat her up!

Some of September’s happenings…

Here are some more things we did in the month of September that didn’t really warrant their own post.  I know I always have a lot of pictures :)  but some day when I make this into a book I know I will want all the pictures.

We rode the “caroself”, as Allie calls it, at the mall.

161

Unfortunately this is her favorite thing to be on while on the carousel.  It spins around faster than the teacups at Disneyland!  Allie calls it the driver car and loves spinning in it.  I’m not going to lie…it makes me a little queesy.

The grandmas held their grandbabies and let them talk to each other.  Why does it look like Brooklynn is chewing Clancy out?   I love how they are holding hands :) and Clancy looks shocked!

187

This picture cracks me up.  Allie looks pretty conniving on my lap!  She was just about to blow out the candles on my birthday cake at my grandma’s house.

Emma and Hailey stayed at our house one night while their parents had an evening to themselves…smart parents:)…and the girls had a blast playing together.

We walked around the temple, visited the visitor’s center, and laid on a blanket in the grass under a tree.  It was such a nice day as long as we were under a shady tree.

We tried out the Kid Club at the mall with Sara and Aiden and decided it probably wasn’t worth coming every week…but the kids got a free ride on the carousel!

Allie is in the middle of a big “Yee-haw!”

We rode the train and carousel at McCormick Railroad Park in Scottsdale with Claire, Cooper, and Chris.  I love taking Chris places with us.  Not only is he a funny guy to have around, but he is sooo helpful with my girls.  I never have to worry if Allie is with him because he watches her so carefully.  Allie is so lucky to have him.  He always does what she wants him to do, so she has a blast with him.  Thanks for being such an awesome brother and uncle Chris!
