Flashback #5 Great-Grandpa's Birthday

My cute great-grandpa turned 95 on April Fool's Day this year! I am so greatful to have him with us still. He is such a fun grandpa. He used to live in Strawberry, Arizona, so when we were little he was Grandpa Strawberry to us. The name kinda stuck even after he moved here. He goes walking in the morning with my grandpa (who lives next door to him), does yard work, and actually is in pretty good shape. He used to make picnic tables and rocking chairs and we were lucky enough to get one of each for Allie. I also have a rocking chair and table from him that I got when I was little. I have such fun memories of him playing baseball with us, pushing us on the tire swing in Strawberry, four wheeling in his jeep, nature walks where he taught to smell the pine trees and determine whether they were Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry scented, building snowmen, feeding the squirrels, and so many more! I am so grateful for all he has taught us and that Allie is lucky enough to have a Great-great grandpa here with us that loves her so much. (She is one of I think 8 of his grea-greatgrandkids.)

Here are the chair and table he built.
Allie was lucky he had extras for her!

This is his birthday party last year. He
is quite the harmonica player.

This is the most recent 5 generation pic we have.
It's back from Allie's blessing day, so apparently
it's time for a new one! He is the grandpa
on the right. Grandpa Davis (his son) is on the left.
Allie is so lucky to have so many grandpas!

(Haha, I hope my mom doesn't get too mad about
this picture. She looks TOTALLY different now.)

Flashback #4 Easter

Ok, so this is a huge holiday and I didn't even post it! I promise this shows how crazy our lives have been. Anyways, Allie was a lot of fun this year and liked finding the eggs. We had a ward egg hunt in the morning and Allie was more interested in throwing rocks than finding eggs. We went to the Powells on Saturday and had lunch and another egg hunt. Sunday we went to the Davis' and had lunch and yet another egg hunt. It was a good Easter!

Allie got some candy, an Easter bunny,
and a purse to go with her new Easter dress.

This was at the ward party.

I love this picture! They both love each
other so much!

Taking a break from all that hard work!

This picture makes me laugh! Emma and
Allie gangin up on poor Hailey and her one
egg.

Here's kinda a pic of the grandbabies. Allie's
smile made me laugh so I had to pick this one.

Flashback #3 Nick's 1st Roundup

Nick went on his first cattle roundup with my uncle last summer (but I am just now remembering the pictures). They left on Thursday and got back late Saturday night. Nick got quite the sunburn, but absolutely loved it. He is like a little boy when he gets on a horse. He loves horses and anything that has to do with them! It was a round up down in Tucson and although Nick and my uncle didn't feel it was very organized, Nick left with some fun stories. (The pics are way small and won't get any bigger, sorry!)

Flashback #2 Cleaning the Garage

So back in February we cleaned the garage out. Whoohoo! We threw away a lot of boxes and junk to make room for a welding table Nick got. We, however, are using it for shelves in our garage for now. It is so nice to have a clutter-free garage. Allie of course was a big help and loved playing on Daddy's big trailer.

Nick backed the trailer right up into
the garage and Allie had a blast!

Nick's scouts and our ward made the
water barrell racks. We love how much
space it saves!

She is such a happy little girl!

Flashback #1 Nick's Birthday!

How sad that I didn't at least stop to blog about this! Nick's birthday was 2/13 and he turned the big 2-8. As Nick says, he's getting pretty old! We had it at my grandma's, and combined it with my grandpa's and my mom's boyfriend Rick. I love Nick so much! 3 years (as of yesterday) later I stand back and think, "holy cow, how did I ever get this guy?!" He is truly amazing and I am so blessed to have him in my life.

It's About Time!!

Well, it is about time I finally blog! School is over, vacation is over, and truly there is no excuse. Allie is still sleeping, so I'm going to blog as much as I can now! A lot has happened since the last time I posted, and since this is more for our family journal, I once again am going to have to play catch up. I'll to just post a lot of pictures and not go overboard with words, but I'm terrible at that. I think this time I'll label them "Flashback". Here goes nothing...

March 28, 2008

I'm sad to say that our last post was almost two months ago!! Holy cow! What a hypocrite I am! Whenever I see that it has been a while for someone else to post I think, "Aww man, the same post as before. I love seeing new posts. Post something new...anything!"...apparently I need to work on this myself. We have been sooo busy! I only have 6 more weeks in the semester and then hopefully things can calm down a little for the summer. Nick is starting to get in more hours and since summer is quickly approaching and Nick is in A/C we won't be seeing him very much. Poor Nick. We miss him in the summer. I need to post pictures of our backyard, but I can't find the camera. Nick put in our sprinkler system and the curbing company is coming to do their part next Friday. Hopefully the weekend after that we can get our rock, sod, and plants in. Hooray for almost having a finished backyard!! Allie loves being outside, so it will be nice to have her playing in grass instead of dirt...way cleaner too! Well, there is so much more to talk about but as usual I don't have time right now for catch up. We have my nieces here for the weekend and all three girls are sleeping right now, so I'd better get some homework done. Know that we are alive and doing well! My fingers are crossed for a new post in the next week or so...
